Timing is the single most common way an otherwise good spray tan disappoints someone at an event. It is not a color problem or an application problem — it is a calendar problem.
The color you see stepping out of your appointment is not the color you will have by the next morning. DHA continues reacting with your skin for several hours after application, which means a same-day appointment for an evening event is a real risk — you may be photographed mid-development rather than at the finished color.
Most people get the most reliable, fully-developed result by booking their appointment one to two days before the event, not the morning of. That gives the color time to finish developing and settle before anyone sees it.
Book a week out and normal skin turnover — the same process that fades any sunless tan over time — will have already softened the color by event day. The tan you had on day one is not the tan you will have on day seven.
If you are coordinating a bridal party or a group, the scheduling gets tighter, not looser — appointments need to be timed close together so everyone develops on a similar timeline, which usually means booking earlier than an individual appointment would require.
